PLAYOFF MOMENTUM

This is the kind of night Trinity has been waiting for all season. In one of the most exciting doubleheaders of the 2026 summer, Trinity swept North Main — winning game one 22-13 and then pulling off a walk-off thriller in extra innings to take game two 26-25. It was the kind of night that reminded everyone what this team is capable of when everything comes together, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Trinity moves to 6-14 on the season with back to back wins for the first time in a long time. Trevor Gahagan and Jerome were back again to help fill out the roster, coming down from the higher division Trinity team — and once again they made their presence felt on both sides of the ball.

Game 1: Trinity 22, North Main 13

Game one was a statement performance. Trinity came out swinging from the first inning and never really looked back, putting up 22 runs on 40 hits in one of the best offensive outputs of the entire season. The team hit a collective .755, which is about as locked in as a lineup can get. Trent Beachem was absolutely on fire, going a perfect 6-for-6 with 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Travis Beachem matched him with a perfect 5-for-5 night, adding 2 RBIs and 2 runs. Logan Myers also went 5-for-5 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. Dave Martino had another big game, going 5-for-6 with a double, a triple, a home run, and 4 RBIs. Trevor Gahagan continued his strong contributions with 5 hits, a double, a triple, and 3 RBIs. Jerome went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. Evan Shearer added 4 hits and 2 RBIs, and Rafe O'Donnell chipped in 3 RBIs of his own. It was a total team effort and the kind of game that sets the tone for a big night.

Game 2: Trinity 26, North Main 25

If game one was a statement, game two was a story. North Main pushed back hard and the two teams went back and forth all game long in one of the wildest games of the 2026 season. With the score tied after seven innings, the game went to extras — and Trinity made the most of it. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game on the line and the season needing a moment, Kaleb Young stepped up and delivered. His walk-off RBI ended the game right then and there, sending Trinity home with a sweep and one of the best wins of the year. It was the kind of at-bat that players dream about — game on the line, extra innings, and he came through when it mattered most. The offense was again relentless in game two. Dave Martino went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, 4 RBIs, and 4 runs scored across back to back massive games. Rafe O'Donnell went a perfect 5-for-5 with 2 doubles, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Jerome continued his strong night going 5-for-6 with 2 doubles, 4 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. Trevor Gahagan added 4 hits, 2 doubles, and 4 RBIs. Evan Shearer went 4-for-6 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs, Kaleb Young finished 4-for-6 with 3 RBIs including the walk-off, and Logan Myers added 4 hits and 2 RBIs. It was a full team effort from top to bottom — exactly what this group is capable of on their best nights.

The Takeaway

Back to back wins. A walk-off in extras. A sweep. Trinity is 6-14 and they couldn't have picked a better time to put it all together. These were the final games before the playoffs, and if this team needed a confidence boost heading into the postseason, week ten delivered exactly that. The offense looked unstoppable, the clutch moments came through, and the energy at the end of that walk-off was exactly what this group needed to carry into playoff softball. A team that can put up 22 runs in game one and then win a 26-25 extra inning thriller in game two is a team that nobody is going to want to see come playoff time. Trinity has had a tough road this season, but this is the version of this team that's been in there all along. If week ten is any indication of what's coming, the postseason just got a lot more interesting.
